PROGRAMS: FERTILITY: FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your qualifications?
I'm a former Labor & Delivery Nurse, trained in whole food nutrition, coaching, yoga and other mind-body techniques. I have done (and continue to do) extensive research on fertility and am dedicated to helping women and men create a healthy foundation for conception. Read my bio.

Will your nutrition & lifestyle program guarantee conception?

There is no program or medical protocol that can guarantee conception. However, how and what you eat, the lifestyle choices you make and the way you manage stress affects every aspect of your physical and emotional health. Thus, proper nutrition, mind-body stress relief and positive lifestyle choices impact your health and hormonal system, and your chance of conceiving and enjoying a healthy pregnancy. Our programs will teach you healthy nutrition, mind-body stress reduction techniques and positive lifestyle choices to improve your health and address fertility. In addition, we help you implement and integrate these things into your life. Learn more about the program.

Is there a "fertility diet"?
While there is no one "fertility diet" or food that will guarantee conception, food, stress and lifestyle choices have a medicinal effect on how well your body functions, including your hormonal system, and there are specific foods and activities that promote better health and fertility, based on your personal medical history, current symptoms and lifestyle patterns. While there is much information to be found on the web, etc., on this subject (some backed by research, some not), our nutrition recommendations are based on published research from credible sources, as well as what we've seen as a result of working with our clients.

I don't have a reproductive diagnosis. Is your nutrition program appropriate for me?
Yes! I love working with smart, motivated clients! This is a great time to prepare your body to be its healthiest, to provide the best environment for conception and pregnancy, increase your overall wellness and create healthy habits that will last throughout your lifetime. Can I do your nutrition program with IVF or other assisted reproductive technologies?
Yes! Recommendations are whole foods based and special care is taken when you are gearing up for a procedure. Clients may report a more pleasant physical and emotional experience going through A.R.T. as a result of this program, the education and the support provided. Learn more about the program.

What if I don't have a lot of time?
Ideally, natural changes through diet and lifestyle take time to implement and impact your body. However, one healthy meal is all it takes to start improving your state of health. It is best to begin the program three months before conception, but if you have less time, you can simply make changes faster. Learn more about the program.

Is your coaching/mind-body program a therapy program?
No. While therapy is more focused on emotion, developing an understanding and coming to terms with something, coaching is about problem-solving and taking action. Coaching will help you move forward and keep you on track, and mind-body skills will give you tools to deal with stress better. Sometimes clients require therapy to be ready for coaching, while others are ready-to-go for coaching. Some clients find both therapy and coaching are beneficial and necessary for them to deal with different issues. It depends on where you are and what your goals are. Learn more about the program.

How can Yoga For Fertility help me?
Women's health issues, specifically those related to the female endocrine and reproductive systems, are closely linked to the brain and the nervous system, and as such are affected by stress. For fertility enhancement, Yoga For Fertility helps to ease the emotional rollercoaster of stress, anxiety, and depression while helping to create an internal environment that is more hormonally balanced and receptive and the poses are focused on your reproductive area. Studies show that decreasing stress may increase your chance for a successful pregnancy. Learn more about Yoga For Fertility.

Where can I read more about how nutrition, stress and lifestyle choices affect reproductive health?
Take a look at these articles and research studies. We will be updating our reading list.
